Come watch the film. The director, actors from the film, and University students will be present for a roundtable discussion. Dr. Ty P. Kāwika Tengan will moderate.

Be sure to bring your own hae Hawaiʻi, Hawaiian flag. This event is cosponsored by the Mauna Kea Protectors at the University of Hawaiʻi and the Ethnic Studies Student Association.

Hosted by Bishop Museum in partnership with Kamehameha Schools

HAE HAWAIʻI SCREENS AT 6:00 pm

The event is meant to educate, celebrate and inspire through Hawaiian cultural identity and the history and place of Kaiwiʻula, where Kamehameha Schools began and home of Bishop Museum. Education and community organizations, Polynesian Voyaging Society, Native Hawaiian Charter Schools, Paʻi Foundation and other organizations will provide programming and the museum exhibits will be open to the public.

This free event will showcase K-12 organizations, local film, television, and productions organizations, Kula Hawaiʻi and others. Families can explore Bishop Museum exhibits spaces and will include a mākeke (market) featuring clothing, jewelry and crafts made in Hawaiʻi; cultural and film industry family activities, and food, for purchase, from popular food trucks and local vendors.

Culminating the evening will be an appearance from celebrity guest Kekoa Kekumano, from the movie Aquaman, and in the short film, Hae Hawaiʻi, which will also be featured on stage at the event. The evening will conclude with a featured showing of Aquaman the movie.
